Supposedly, that song was written for Rod Stewart, but he turned it down. It went on to become the biggest hit of the 80s, notching out Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes.

The guitar solo was by Steve Lukather of Toto, who did innumerable session solos, like Somewhere Out There by James Ingram and Linda Ronstadt, Running With the Night by Lionel Richie, and a lots of the guitar on the Thriller album.

What about the video for that song, where ONJ is at a gym with some obese men who are (haplessly) trying to lose weight. When they do lose the weight and look “hot” (I guess), they decide to pair off together and ditch ONJ. What’s up with that?
