Optane was nice try by Intel but NVME drives have surpassed it. Anyway here are two examples of my reads/writes for a 7200RPM drive in my HP desktop computer with Optane assist. Optane is legit because reads are more important than writes. With Optane the WRITES are about the same as without any optane chip. You can see that Optane makes a 7200RPM hard drive READS much much better.

Yes, those are impressive reads for a HDD but there sure is a disparity with the writes. Dude, get an SSD. Seriously -it’s not the ‘90s (although it feels like it sometimes -like the stock market currently)
