".... I’m not pushing an agenda...."

You could have fooled me. But what are you doing if not that? Trying to push the fact that you have the right numbers behind you?

You don't have to keep repeating your numbers argument over and over again. I get it.

But the fact that the vaccine is less deadly than covid means absolutely nothing when the death rate for the disease itself is negligible to begin with.

Why is everyone in a rush to get an experimental vaccine that hasn't been tested or approved by the FDA and has no apparent benefits? It's tantamount to mass hysteria.

Has anybody, including yourself, ever thought to answer this question?

What is the point in getting this experimental vaccine if the vaccine doesn't cure the covid disease, doesn't prevent you from contracting the covid disease, doesn't stop the transfer of the corona virus, and yet you still have to wear a mask, social distance, and stay in lockdown after receiving this vaccine that has no obvious benefits but could result in serious side effects that we don't know about yet?

It just make no sense no matter what the numbers or statistics show.

Much is still unknown about the vaccines, but safety is not the concern. We do know that the vaccine is 95% effective at preventing people from getting sick after exposure to the virus — that’s the benefit. You can be infected by the virus, and the virus can kill you or cause serious health problems. While you might not see the benefit, certainly many others do see the benefit of taking a vaccine that can make it much less likely that you’ll die or get seriously ill if infected. The reports on what the vaccine isn’t going to do are being misunderstood. It hasn’t been reported that the vaccine won’t prevent initial infection or that it won’t prevent transmission of the virus. The truth is that these things are still unknown. Since it may still be possible for a vaccinated individual to be infected, asymptomatic, and contagious, the recommendation is that vaccinated people still use masks and practice social distancing. This could change as more data from studies of vaccinated individuals comes in.

That’s not a point I’m arguing, though, since I’ve never favored mandates of any kind or lockdowns of any kind. You have pretty much admitted the point I was making - the vaccine is less deadly than the disease. You are deciding to not take the vaccine. I’m deciding to take it when I have the opportunity. We can come to differing conclusions on what’s best in our individual situations. All I was doing was making the very narrow argument that the risk of vaccination is lower than the risk of Covid. I keep coming back to the numbers because that’s the way we determine which is riskier. No other way is anything other than someone’s opinion. I’d be fully prepared to admit I’m wrong if the bodies of dead vaccine recipients start piling up. That hasn’t happened yet.

BTW, you worry about side effects and long term Heath issues from vaccination. What are the long term Heath issues caused by Covid? There already are indications that there may be memory loss, brain damage, and cardiovascular issues associated with Covid infection. Again, the choice is not between a safe choice of refusing the vaccine and the risky choice of taking it. The choice is between two risky alternatives. Obviously we’re all free to make our choices as we see fit, but at least recognize that your choice is also risky.
