I don't need you, someone who I have never heard of or who has no legitimate credentials other than your own opinion, to tell me what to do with regard to the vaccine. You think you know it all but let me give you a clue. You don't.
And I am not the one spreading misinformation. You and the government seem to be doing just fine in that department already. You were the one who wrote about how you had all of the answers before I even commented.
And why is your rationale any better than my rationale? I don't do vaccines. I don't wear masks. I don't social distance. I don't lockdown in my home. I'm in my mid-70s and I can judge my own risks, According to the CDC and Fauci, I should be dead by now. But I am doing just fine. Why is that? Because I followed the draconian bureaucratic "experts" advice or my own?
Early last year I could see this wasn't about the virus or the health and well being of people but about the manipulation and control of the population. It turned into mini versions of dictatorships all across the country. Now in hindsight, it is even clearer to see.

Look, I agree with most of what you said. The lockdowns were a stupid overreaction that played on people’s irrational fears and allowed unscrupulous politicians an excuse to exert previously unthought of levels of control over the population. There should have been no economy-killing lockdowns, no mask mandates (although wearing masks voluntarily is a good idea and does help to slow the spead of the virus to some degree), no stay at home orders, and no school closures. I can understand skepticism about the vaccine, but numbers are numbers. Regardless of any overreactions people have died and still are dying from Covid. The rate at which these deaths occur is demonstrably higher than the rate at which vaccinated people are dying. If you are seriously turning down the vaccine because of the risk involved, but are not concerned about being infected with Covid, then yes, that’s an irrational decision, no matter how you try to justify it.
The difference between what I’m saying and what the political leaders who took advantage of this pandemic did is that I am in no way advocating that anyone who doesn’t want the vaccine be forced into taking it. I advocate no mandates, but if you truly are concerned about risk, then by all means please take the vaccine— that’s the least risky option. It’s not my opinion that says so. It’s not Fauci or any of the experts; it’s simply what the data shows. I AM a scientist, unlike all the “follow the science” types. I understand the science. I am truly not pushing any agenda here; I sincerely hope that everyone will take actions that save lives. Vaccines save lives. Polio, smallpox and many other dangerous diseases have been wiped out with vaccines. Covid will be too eventually. I’d rather see the vast majority of people get vaccinated than see them die or develop serious health problems because of it. But, as always, the choice is yours.
