Currently in the Boston area some places are advertising Detroit style pizza.
Apparently a cult item on Boston’s South Shore is taverns that serve “bar pizza”.
One short lived but interesting variant about 30 years ago in the Boston area was Ruggles with “English style pizza”. Cheddar was used and tea was available.It had 4 locations including Harvard Sq Cambridge and Downtown Crossing Boston, then it went out of business.
The Blaze chain, partly owned by Lebron James. has people requesting pizza or salad to order—choose various ingredients when you go through the cafeteria style line. Fast and cheaply priced, and when I went it seemed popular with college students.
