It is a product that has been widely used since around the civil war. Recently a study showed what it claimed to be a link between women who sprinkled it on their lady parts every day for their entire lives and ovarian cancer. Other studies contradicted the initial study, but now talcom powder is no longer being sold in the United States by Johnson and Johnson because of the lawsuits.
It has been speculated that talcum based baby powder is dangerous because it sometimes might have contained minute amounts of dreaded asbestos fibers. The funny thing about that is that I used to do a lot of sand blasting and silicosis from using sand with silicon which is what most normal sand is made of... is a very dangerous and deadly disease that is far more widespread than asbestosis ever was. Maybe talcum powder had trace amounts of deadly sand in it?
