Superficially, it sounds like they’re actually interested in protecting the livelihoods of their constituents. Is it just posturing, or is rebellion actually brewing in their camp?
“Is it just posturing, or is rebellion actually brewing in their camp?”
I don’t think it’s going to matter. The Democratic party has managed to hold itself together against Trump. But now that they’ve won and they’re in power, the constituents that made up the party are fighting to get THEIR agenda passed. The blacks expect reparations. The LGBTQ “community, whose interests are already widely divergent from each other, each wants laws and policies that many of the others do not want. White women largely do not want to share a bathroom with men. Asians...probably not many of them, do not want institutional bias against themselves, such as college admission limits, because they are smart and successful. Democrats from energy producing states do not want to be seen as greenies. Democrats from poor districts do not want additional taxes to bail out California and New York. California and New York want tax credits so their citizens don’t have to pay the full freight of their terrible state policies. As Captain Kirk said, “Conquest is easy. Control is not.”
They are set up for failure.
