Ask Liz Cheney what the point is. Her State Central Committee censured her, and now Cheney’s political career is swiftly swirling down the crapper.
Until she is out of office, I am not impressed. These swampers never face justice.
Cheney was a newcomer who only got on the ballot in the first place because of her daddy's name. It's not as if Wyoming gets a lot of bacon off the federal hog to begin with, and there isn't much of a Democratic party in Wyoming, so there's not much risk in switching candidates in the next election.
Sasse has a power base in Nebraska. Those supporters who have benefited from his tenure or expect to do so in the future will support him no matter what he has done. John McCain got censured by the Arizona Republican party and it never made any difference to his election prospects. Nebraska also has a viable Democratic party so a bad primary fight might put the seat at risk.

Cheney can put some fake Republicans in the primary, and three or four of them can dilute the support of the first opponent, the state senator who quickly announced a challenge to Cheney.
