That's something I've never thought about. That could be an interesting relationship.
If we can accept someone as liberal as Trump becoming slightly conservative, it's possible there are others as well.

I agree. There are a few people out there on the Democrat side — not very many these days — that would probably work well in a populist ticket.
Trump would do well to seek out people like that.
