I would disagree with his assessment. Probably through October, there will be some type of Guard deployment going on (maybe in the range of 3k).
While in this period, the Capital Police will probably get a funding shift, and add around 3k to 4k additional personnel (currently at 2k members). There’s going to be some kind of Guard-toy list (Armored vehicles, etc).
By the end of 2021, DC will look more like the ‘Green Zone’ of Baghdad than what DC was in the 1980s.
Where you ever in DC in the late 1980s? Away from the Potomac, the Federal area, and Mass. Ave. headed up to Chevy Chase, a lot of it looked like the rest Bagdad, or some other war zone, and was about as safe.
