the best way to keep scum out of congress/senate is to remove the incentives...and right now, its that they can privately invest in stocks/companies/real estate and then pass legislation to enhance their picks....

they are all coming out multi millionaires...

also, remove their pension....let them have 401ks ...and also let them live on SS and Medicare...

totally agree, Serving is and Honor, not a free lunch, if WE have to live it so do they.

Also make a rule that they cannot have worked for any type of lobby or PAC organization for 10 years before and 20 years after serving in Congress. So any pull or connections they may have are long gone.
