As a former Republican, all I can say is Mitch is a pig.

Portman in Ohio announced yesterday he’s not running for reelection.
Its possible to impeach him, no?
Senators and Congressman can be expelled by a 2/3 vote of each chamber, never going to happen.

He raced to the floor to blame Trump immediately, without hearing any of Trump’s speech and before any of the timeline of the events was known.
What he did know, however, was that the FBI made known days before that violence was a possibility. This information was conveyed to both McConnell and Pelosi, and both refused extra security because of the optics. They both immediately shifted blame to Trump to divert attention to their own negligence.
Okay, so there is no news here, just someone speculating and giving opinion, and look at the comments - reading this and responding as if it is actual news.
Narrative over fact.
Schumer sets the agenda now, not McConnell.
And the opening line contains no news at all. This is just someone making up something out of their own speculation. But look at the comments - responding as though this is an actual news story.
Or face a noose here and now.
Where do you see in this article any news? This just someone speculating what could have happened in their opinion.
Very believable. Until McConnell triggered the nuclear option, the filibuster was still in place for appointees. He then had to trigger it a second time to further limit debate. The level of obstruction by the Democrats was unprecedented...nothing even close to what they were doing had ever occurred before.
However, that came with a price. Now the Democrats have free reign. Biden's nominees will face no obstruction or slow downs.
Well if he is, it isn’t based on anything in this article. This article is not news - entirely speculation and opinion of what they believe could have happened.
Republican senators, particularly those up in 22, are talking. McConnell left them in a lurch with blaming Trump for the mostly peaceful protest at the Capital building. His wife also worked for Trump as transportation secretary and immediately quit after Jan 6.
Turtle misread the situation, siding with the Donks again and left his party in a horrible situation. He gave false cover to Cheney in the House and who knows how many other defections that caused. His speech in the well did enormous damage to his leadership and the party.
