I would think any government employee involved with a spy from another country might be in trouble.

The honeypot method of spying is included in the basic counterintelligence training that all DOD employees must take every year. This chump should have lost any security clearance that he held immediately. It would not surprise me if an investigation(s) are ongoing, if not by the FBI, the individual services, i.e.,DCIS, NCIS or USACIDC.
