Acosta is too stupid to know it, but Joint Base Andrews is active. It is not a tourist attraction. Members of the public can't just stroll on to the base. All visitors are thoroughly screened and must have a valid Point of Contact.
Most MAGA folks are smart enough to know that already. Any other venue and there would have been tens of thousands for the thank you send off for President Trump. As it turned out, tens of thousands of people lined the streets of Palm Beach welcoming their President home.
I was there. The invitations were private, there was a screening registration in advance with personal ID required, and the instructions for being there said to arrive between 6 and 7:15 AM or you would not be admitted. There were several security checkpoints when you arrived requiring ID, and miles of a relatively unmarked route to get to the actual site. People couldn't just show up. Even so, there were more than 200 there.
