They sometimes pull this kind of crap. My wife and I used to get pulled out of the security line fairly frequently.

Our worst example: my wife and I were waiting in line with a little creepier than nomral bunch of people. But everyone was being waved through in the normal manner. There was nothing threatening looking about us. And we expected to get through with no problem.

We were taken out of line before we went through the scanners. We were seperated and I was asked a few innocuous questions and then told to wait.

My wife was taken aside and forced to strip completely naked in a small room and then asked a bunch of largely innapropriate questions by the same two bozos who questioned me for just a moment. She became highly irritated by their gawking and threw a fit. They then let us go having never walked through their scanners or using their metal detecting wands.

Not realizing that she had just been through a humiliating experience, I started blabbing that that I guessed that they preferred to pick a couple of people who they thought would not object much to being singled out. She of course had a different theory and was mad not just at them but at me and the world in general. We made a couple of phone calls about that incident to complain which were met with nothing but skepticism and patronizing derision.

We now have a friend who is a TSA supervisor at the large airport closest to us. We would probably have more success complaining these days, but now that we are a little older it does not happen any more.

There is a bit of a back story that is related... My wife is a very attractive women with a good sense of fashion and used to appear so much like a well known celebrity that we often were followed around especially at tourist spots by people from asia especially. They would even follow her into restrooms. People were always taking pictures and she would often be asked for autographs. When she insisted she wasn’t the celebrity a lot of them refused to believe her or pretended that they didn’t understand. Now that we are older and the celebrity she looks like is not as popular it doesn’t happen any more.

It wasn’t all bad. Back when we used to fly our airplane down to LA and landed at an airport frequented by clebrities, a golf cart would come out to pick us up as I was tying down the plane. I thought that it was something they did for everyone until I asked another pilot about it. On a few occassions we were pulled out of line at restaurants and given a private room by staff. The chef or management would come in to visit and we would tell them that she was not who they thought she was. They would let us finish dining in the room and asked us not to reveal to other patrons that she was not a celebrity as we left. We were sometimes given free additional samples of food.

Our USMC Infantry son had just enough time to make it from Pendleton to the airport, after an event that required dress blues.

He was somehow selected for the full monty questions and strip search!

Fortunately for all involved, the TSA supervisor was a retired Marine Infantryman and eased him down, he was radioactive hot!

Had it been some jamoke, my son would probably be out of jail by now? And not the new history department head at his school.
