Reminds me of my calculus teacher in college. I and II. “and the answer is 0. Believe it...or not. I barely passed those classes. I was already working in the computer industry and knew I wouldn’t need it. I had to take it for my Computer Science degree just to justify the Mathematics departments existence.

LovelyLinda may have heard of a Canadian gentleman named John Mighton who developed an instructional approach called JUMP Math. With his method, any kid who can sit up in a chair without drooling can learn math.

Then again, since she lives in Ontario, the information may have passed her by. Though a couple of western provinces have adopted the JUMP Math curriculum, Ontario's textbook committee -- in tight formation with the Obama's favorite publishing company, Pearson -- rejected it outright.
