Hard for me to believe you wouldn’t know you had a UTI. I’ve had them and cannot wait to get to the doctor for “diagnosis” and antibiotics to cure them. And I’m definitely “elderly.”

Right. The kind my mom was getting was nothing like those when she was younger; she felt nothing. (IMHO, a UTI — the kind you can feel — is a corner of hell!)
When my brother told me she was falling a lot (a sign!) but felt OK, I told him to get her to an ER right away. She had a raging UTI and was in the hospital for eight days.
