Perhaps a new party would attract voters who have issues with the Republican party and people like McConnell, Romney, the Bushes, etc.? Many people are dissatisfied with the two major parties. What was truly "not a good idea" is congressional Republicans, governors, and those in the state legislatures, fragging their president and betraying their voters.
