It’s so nice of the weather to be cooperating just for you and nice that you can take your time moving things to the new house.
Are you getting things put away as you go?
I hate it when I have EVERYTHING to unpack and put away.
So sorry your kitties are having health problems, hope all will be well.
As for you, going up and down stairs can be a killer on our joints but so can just getting old.
Does your new home have more than one level?
I’m thankful that we are all on one floor, have so many friends who can no longer use their upstairs due to fear of falling or just stress on their joints and heart.
“Are you getting things put away as you go?”
Half and half. I already moved over a whole bunch of boxes of things that aren’t needed right away. Now I’m bringing over laundry baskets of stuff that I put away that we use daily. So the work will still not be done when we move in, but it will be functional.
“Does your new home have more than one level?”
It does but the second story is sort of optional. It’s just one great big open room. And it has a door at the top of the stairs, which is different. If we ever don’t want to use it we will just close up the vents and shut the door.
But the thing about East Tennessee is the Hills. It doesn’t matter where you go you’re going to be walking uphill or downhill. It looks like the pad for this house was cut out of a tall Hill, with the driveway going uphill and the backyards going uphill. If that makes any sense. My ankles really hurt when we first moved here. But now I think they’re stronger. But if I want to walk on Flatland I have to go to town along the rivers. Now I see why everybody congregated there when settling the place. Plus the water of course.
