I was a Milwaukee Brave fan back in the 50’s before they moved to Atlanta. Aaron was a rookie in 1954. He hit 44 HR in 1957 — they won WS that year against Yankees. 44 was also his uniform number.

As a grade school kid, I was star struck and watched an interview with him on TV. Yes—they had TV then.

He was asked the question “When you are in a clutch situation at bat, what do you look for”? His reply “ The Ball “

ThankQ
I was a Braves fan in ‘57 & ‘58. All because of Bob Hazel in ‘57... I was a 7-year old that was enamored by the Nickname: Hurricane.

Hammerin Hank Aaron - the in-laws (wife is from Milwaukee) made it a fact that his uniform number really meant 4 for 4. Couldn’t argue with them...being a Cubs fan.

I had a bet with a friend of mine - we were in grammar school. He said Aaron would break Ruth’s record.
Gladly paid that bet umpteen years later.
