“Lapel pins are changed, sometimes daily, sometimes every other day it kind of depends.
The lapel pins in the service are important for identifying another agent.
They might wear a lapel pin with a U.S. and Treasury Dept. flag one day, then switch to a Treasury Dept. symbol the next, or even a star badge as is in this case.
I notice a lot of hoopla about this Asian agent. I saw various videos of him, the original disembarking from the jet one too.
He is Secret Service. Ear piece and lapel pins.
To validate what I’m saying.......in the 80’s my first career choice was the Treasury Dept. I trained with Treasury Dept. men and there were only 3 women at that time.
In order to work plain cloths you must first work in the uniform service.......gate duty, posted inside buildings, etc.
At the Presidential level (and other levels) the “mark” or subject can request someone they feel comfortable with. They usually do.
So just to inform y’all.......there is no there, there.”

I think the problem is that you were so quick to say, “there is no there, there.” A lot of people, including me, think that there might be something there. If you had just presented your thoughts and experiences and left it that, or even said, “YMMV,” I don’t think people would have been so quick to jump on you. But a statement like, “there is no there, there” is very dismissive and patronizing.
