Do you honestly think that there wont be hell to pay if Trump cannot even defend himself in a trial? 2/3 of the Senate will NEVER GO for this. I know its crazy right now but that would be the ABSOLUTE end of the Republic right there.
The senate may convene a trial, but the senate determines ALL the rules. A TRUMP Impeachment would look like a “Captain Blood” trial from Old England, only a naive soul would think or believe otherwise.

Mitch only needs 17 gutless wonders from the GOPe and Rinos for the Dems will vote in lockstep to try and erase THE DONALD from their collective memories. Mitch is a sellout (he was around when the Pubbies had a 50-50 tie with control and the senate went along with the Dem idea of Co-Chairs and an even number of committee members. He would never threaten POTUS unless he knew the fix was in....JMO
