To: alternatives?

The day I was there, I was surprised at the number of German School Children who appeared to be on field trips that were there, most were in the 12-15 year old range....in fact I would say there where the majority of the people visiting that day.....

The approach I noticed when there was there was hanging victim cards from the ceiling with a picture and a label from the ceiling. There was a picture of a Jew with a description that these people were thrown in the camp. There was a card for Gypsies, gays, lesbians, handicapped, old, unemployed, political opponents (such as Communist or socialist), newspapermen, etc. You could go around and find some card you could identify with and say to yourself, see, I would have been persecuted by the Nazi’s (equated with right wing as I recall) as well and feel good about yourself. The problem was in the early 30’s the primary political opponent was the Communists and they were as bad as the Nazis. Also, the distribution of pictures minimized the Jews as the primary victims. It was modern politically correct for the left wing, German style.
