I suppose you are about 30 or so which is why you think the WaPo was respectable 20 years ago. I am about 70 or so, and I think the WaPo has been a treasonous gas-lighting communist mouth piece since I have been old enough to vote. Not in my adult lifetime has this mendacious garbage wrapper been respectable. Remember that the Watergate nonsense started with this tool of the 5th column when they drove another decent Republican president who was determined to win the Vietnam war from office.

My first political memory(although I didn’t know it at the time) was the Nixon resignation.
Even though I was only 3, I knew my father was very angry when his face turned red. His face was very red that day.
He said :
“Nixon is out, those SOB’s forced him out.”
Even though many conservatives have painted Nixon as a liberal. I still defend him, because Watergate was a Democrat takedown of a Republican President.
Who would you rather have as President from 1968-1976?
LBJ, Humphrey, McGovern, Wallace or Nixon.(LBJ was only eligible through 1972)
