As US *Special Marshals, does this designation mean these NG are armed?
They’ve always been armed, RitaOK. Swearing them in as deputies allows them to make federal arrests and to execute warrants, deliver subpoenas, etc.

sworn officers for the most part are armed,
fyi us border patrol agents (armed) have been many times sworn in as us marshals to aid us marshalls with more manpower..
