My comment was situational.

For some gripped with fear, Tracy Beanz's shock-and-awe manner would be perfectly bracing and help steady them.

But some would find  an apparently angry, swearing person saying "get out of the way!" frightening, pershaps too similar to their mother-in-law or drill sargeant, and would instead be increasingly stressed.
