Should have been up there with "Convoy" in my opinion. One of the greatest underlooked songs of the 1970s.
We all laughed when we heard it. Little did we know that 50 years later the whole country would be taken over and their leader is a space cadet.
I was thumbing through the want ads in the Shelby County Tribune
When this classified advertisement caught my eye, it said:
“Take immediate delivery on this ‘57 Chevrolet half-ton pickup truck.
Will sell or swap for a hide-a-bed and thirty-five bucks.
Call one four oh one two, and ask for Bob.”
Good stuff. I used to be able to recite that one from memory.
Dog’s name is Frank
“Lewis and Clark” and “Four Wheel Drive” are two other great C.W. McCall tunes.
