It is urgent and important for us to try to save this republic, but it may possibly not be doable.
When a soldier is given an urgent and important but impossible order, what is he to do? He is ordered straight to his death, perhaps. That is when he makes his choice about which master he is to follow.
As a country, we are rapidly approaching that choice-point.
Well, I was paraphrasing a quote that I can’t find now, it was from an engineering firm. The broader point is that Sometimes people tend to prioritize what they think is urgent because it seems more expedient, and the important things, which may actually need more urgent attention get left to ripen on the vine until it is either too late, or nearly too late to have the impact finishing those important tasks would have and then you rush a solution that is haphazard and barely effective, or in a lot of cases detrimental to the cause.
