I had so many disappointing meals when I spent time in Montreal.
The best food was at McDonalds where the Egg McMuffins were only made with real butter and the English muffins were toasted perfectly.
Other good meals were at the hotel restaurant, one where Americans tended to stay.
I had a good, but very expensive, grouper meal in downtown Montreal.
All the mom and pop, buffets, and other fast food were not worth the money. And poutine is just a bunch of tasteless French fries with gravy.
The whole freakin’ extended city is basically cooking up the taste of boiled potatoes for every food, including desserts. Even the donuts were no better than “fair.”
There are great places in Quebec and Ontario, even BC and Alberta
I've always wanted to try the taste of grouper.
They are such ugly-looking fish, though, and their mouths are so big!
Regards,
Their bacon sucks, it ain’t even decent ham.
I had the opposite experience in Montreal. I liked it when the wait staff pretended not to know a word of English, I would point to an item on the menu that seemed like a word I could figure out, said “see vooplay”. Every time the meal was good. I would say “mare see” and it was all good 👍.
