Under Biden there will be forests of windmills and acres of solar farms and rolling blackouts
I have often said that I wish Trump had pushed and funded research into clean nuclear energy during his first term. Our judgment and use of nuclear energy is largely based on technology that is as old as I am and there are many promising new technologies that address many of the concerns with nuclear energy.
Ultimately, nuclear energy is the best answer for our needs and many “honest” environmentalist are reaching the same conclusion.
I always love the threads that you start even if I play devils advocate.
I assume that you understand that the clamoring for “clean energy” has almost nothing to do with the environment and safety, and everything to do with controlling people and the economy.
Just see what the dimodrats do to it and it will blow your mind a second time........
Spinning windmills and rolling blackouts.
Nuclear energy is the only real solution to carbon emissions. It is the only wat that travel within this solar system will one day be possible. The phony Democrat “environmentalists” are paranoid about nuclear energy and will oppose its development and deployment. Now that they have power, Americans will be entering a dark age.
Funny, but true.
The future of nuclear is Enhanced Coulomb Repulsion, which Google got 2 patents for so far, published a peer reviewed article in Nature Magazine, and have a $10M/year program in place looking into it.
I knew this was going to be a technical article when I saw that the 2nd sentence is
“It creates high-paying jobs better than any other energy source.”

Also far fewer birds and bats, but a lot more insects. Other great features are the plunging real estate values on nearby homes and loss of crop and pasture lands.
Didn’t address the spent fuel and other waste products issue.
Under Biden-Harris, all of these changes will come to a screaming hysterical halt in Feb 2021.
A fundamental fault with how legacy nuc plants have been built is that each was a 1-off custom design of immense complexity. A design of immense complexity generates regulatory reviews and permitting of equal complexity. Construction and quality control of that construction is so complicated that very few companies could fully control quality and cost.
All of those items added up to multibillion $$$ cost overruns and in some cases cancellations after spending several billion and not even making it out of engineering (ex. Midland, MI). At the South Texas nuc plant, Brown and Root was fired midway during construction because of quality control nonconformance + cost overruns and replaced by Bechtel.
The solar has terrible economics but is getting less terrible due to efficiency advancements. IIRC solar technology also uses trace elements that largely come from China and South Africa. I like solar for small scale niche applications but it's way to expensive for mass generation.
Wind generation can produce quite a bit of electricity till the wind quits blowing but at urban scales, you give up many square miles of landscape or coastal continental shelf. Blades use enormous amounts of evil petrochemicals and landfill disposal of used blades is a huge problem.
Lanthanides—specifically Cerium superhydride?
