Sure, but Churchill was smart enough to understand that at the end of the war, Poland ended up a Soviet satellite while all Britain gained was the accelerated loss of its empire - they could never re-assert themselves with people who had watched Britain humbled by the Japanese. All the loss of life, materiel, and damage from the Blitz...

Well, to be accurate, Britain wasn’t “humbled” by the Japanese until 1942 (esp. the fall of Singapore), some 2 1/2 years after the Soviets invaded Poland.
