D.C. will be a ghost town for inauguration day, who wants to support Biden?
Could be this is to protect Pres. so he can leave safely....it’s not to protect Joe....he’s never seen.
It occurs to me that these plans were made back when Trump was expecting to be re-elected and the inauguration would have to protected from leftist terrorists.
Given the inertia of government those plans would still be followed.
Not the whole of it of course (obviously there’s a huge propaganda effort being made), but probably a contributing factor

If Leftist paramilitary groups were going to attack, wouldn’t they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the NG units would have orders to fire on them and kill them?

DC mayor can’t call up all these troops. Only the Pentagon, by Trump’s order. Remember Pelosi asking the military last week to disobey Trump? Maybe this is what she wants to stop.
I’ve seen a couple of reports of 30K in all. So far.

Seriously, though, all of it looks like the intent is to keep people IN, not out.
Well considering that they shuttled Pres. Trump out of DC when the capital was hit, reveals the threat was for the Pres. s safety...... and nothing done to protect Biden tells me this is all to protect the very serious threats against our President.

I always understood that the National Guard couldn't cross State lines except from an order from the Commander in Chief...If that's true, it sheds a whole nother light on the subject...But I'm probably wrong...
The troop buildup. I don’t know why the President is doing it, but he must have a reason.
Possibly so.....Interesting she touted today how she met and arranged for these troops.....But that’s what Pelsio does when she’s guilty and actions are taken against her...she takes credit for what’s being done to protect herself.
You can bet Biden will be sending troops somewhere soon.

Nothing says national unity more than a division of armed troops surrounding the palace
