I can't help but remember the Florida battle in 2000. There was no three ring circus of clowns, amateurs, conspiracy buffs and self-promoters. There was James Baker, flanked by people like Boyden Gran and Ted Olson. The jabbering politicos stepped aside. The serious legal warriors stepped forward. There was iron control and complete message discipline. They knew the points they had to win, and they focused on them relentlessly.
I think there are serious and legitimate reasons to contest this election. But it would have required serious legal talent and focus to bore in on the decisive points. Instead, we had a twitter barrage roaring in the background and a president barnstorming around the country in campaign mode while an ad hoc crew of overmatched Trump lawyers and self-promoting freelancers were dashing in all directions chasing squirrels. They created so much smoke that they were easy to brush off.
Trump has been his own worst enemy since Day One. Why should it change now?
I remember Bush V Gore, the media was all in on Gore as well, they really wanted him to prevail, but it never happened.
The lawyers kept the case simple and to the point.
Guiliani was out shadowed by the crazies who were feeding the base the red meat it desperately needed.
State governors not follow state laws is wonky, boring, not exciting.
But a conspiracy involving rigged voting machines controlled by some German (now Italian) company with Krakens and dead commies, now that feeds the base the red meat it wants and is exciting and can blog on facebook all day about it.
Trunp lost because the messaging got lost and over ran by delusions of Lawyers who were “out to find the real truth”. Everyone wanted the conspiracy theories to be real and prove that Trump won by a giant landslide. Heck Trump’s own ego wanted this to be true and has always eluded to it. But this wasn’t the win we could prove. The win we could prove lied wit the state laws that were changed, we needed to put together a real challenge and it needed to happen on Nov 4th, not a month later. Bush V Gore took a month to get a decision. By the time it was properly challenged, Bush V Gore was already decided. Our side wasted a ton of time on nonsense.
Time was wasted and the real lawyers were needed never materialized. And all the conspiracy theories about a mass stolen election, were just that, theories. But it got everyone’s emotions up, got everyone excited everyone was hoping it was all true. And the election will magically be proven stolen.
Happy to see few on here understood what I was trying to say here. I got too many messages on how I am not a real conservative or whatever, I really don’t care. I just want to stay factual on what was proven and so far all that can be proven were the state laws that were broken, everything else was pretty much a fairy tail being pushed by lawyers who want to sell us a book in the summer.
