Eat at least 3 grams of sodium a day and at least 3.5 grams of potassium and your body chooses what it needs rather than having it forced in an unhealthy manner, this is if you have functioning kidneys and are not in the 15% of people with salt-sensitive blood pressure issues. So this should hold for up to 85% of everyone.
The death rate goes down for sodium ingestion between 3,000 mg to almost 7,000 mg. It goes up under and over those amounts.
