"You can still vote in the primaries of your choice, and you’re not “tagged” for political pestering."

Not in New York State.

Jonathan Attler... ‘professor’

‘Quite significant... Only two

They need to pull back from that ‘up his nose’ shot.

You can stay in the party. I sure as hell won’t. I’m done voting. I’ll never vote again. I don’t care if they have Jesus as a running mate. I’m finished. I’m done being used. They’ve been raping us for years, taking our money, and our votes, and abusing us in return. It’s a form of domestic violence, and we let it go on. Donald Trump woke us up that we don’t have to be victims of the GOP any longer. The GOP is dead to me. There is no reason for me to vote, because somebody else will be voting for me anyway.

You wrongly accuse me. Don't need an R by my name to support my president. It is more crucial that I send a message to his alleged party. YMMV. You do what makes sense in your situation & location.

Just did the same in my state, sent a signed copy and a nasty letter, explaining my reasons for doing it, to Ronna McDaniels, RNC chairwoman.

Some of us don’t have the option. Not if we want to be able to primary some of these *uckers.

Not all states allow the ability to vote outside your “party” in the primaries.

No can do in ‘Bama. You just register to vote, you don’t register to a party. When I go to vote they offer me a Dem or Republican ballot.

“I will put you in the same group as the 10 ‘Republicans’ not supporting the President !!!”

Oh golly! Does this mean we aren’t friends? I don’t know how I’ll sleep tonight....

Those republicans attacking Trump - including Cheney - need to understand they WILL lose ALL political power and office, even if that means a few years of democrat dominance. Until they are out, we don’t have a true opposition party.

We need to out the republicans who hate the base. And there are too many of them.

Ask yourself this: How many Democrats failed their party? That is right. ZERO.

// The problem is that you also then can’t vote in any Republican primaries. Florida is a closed state. //

-AND-

// Some of us don’t have the option. Not if we want to be able to primary some of these *uckers.

Not all states allow the ability to vote outside your “party” in the primaries.//
-----------------------------------------------

That's true, and an important point for anyone in a CLOSED PRIMARY STATE as FL is to consider. Unfortunately I didn't put it into body of original thread so everyone could see & consider their situation & chosen path. I did address it in my comments: in FL can make change within 29-30 days of election to vote R.

PresbyterianReporter understood: // In the next 20 months you leave the GOP wondering how you will vote. // - - - YEP, BINGO.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: This is NOT true in TX, acc wardamneagle in #47

For those in Texas.....

How can I change my party affiliation?

After affiliating with a party by voting in a party’s primary or by taking an oath of affiliation with a party, a voter cannot change their party affiliation during the calendar year. (§162.010)

However, affiliation will automatically expire at the end of the calendar year.

It's important to know what your state regs are.

"Where I am in NY my vote hasn’t mattered in years"

I'm in NY's 22nd District, which winner hasn't even been decided yet. Ballots found in desk drawers of two counties weeks after November 3rd. The Republican challenger Claudia Tenney, who lost in 2018 by less than 1%, was ahead on election night by 28,000. Absentee ballot counting got it down to a handful. The election is being conducted in court with a Democrat Judge presiding. There are 2500 disputed ballots being fought over as I write. Today's news says that with appeals, etc., it could be months before we know who won. Tenney leads by 29 votes as of today. The House has ordered a full hand recount of all 318,000 ballots cast in the election. By the term "House," I'm assuming they mean Democrats. The DNC sent their own set of lawyers to be on hand. I have no idea what the RNC or NY State Republican Party is doing. Probably nothing. They've always been useless anyway.

// The point is to send a message to the Republican party for
abandoning our man.

As it is, we’re not winning any more elections.

We have to shake it up, and this is the time to do it.

by the end of the year, I hope the Republican Party has
less than 2.50% of registered voters remaining.

They think they won. There’s no way in hell I’m going to
let that stand. I’m out! (within a very few days) //

Exactly.

Trump put together a cross-party coalition of people who were fed up with the status quo. Nasty status quo R’s think they’re gonna REBUILD the party after royally dissing and ditching him? NOPE.

My husband and I changed our affilitation to independent in November. I just went to the board of elections website for my county, printed the form and sent it in.

Interestingly enough, I got a call this morning from the RNC. I told the woman that we changed to independent because the RNC let us down and that we will never send money to them again. I also told her that we will join the new patriot party once it’s established. (I would go back to the RNC someday if it cleaned up and returned to basic principles)

I just unsubscribed from the RNC Newsletter list. I only wish they provided a field to express why I was unsubscribing.
