“IN OTHER STATES: Please post info to this thread if you know link/info.”

TENNESSEE: I called to check on this last week. There are no party affiliations in the state. Everyone is the same. The only time a party comes in to play is for primary elections, and they ask you if you want a Republican or Democrat ballot.

In my state, one can vote for either party in primary.

Yep, nothing says ‘loyal supporter of the President’ than abandoning him in his hour of need.

If you haven't noticed its beyond party lines right now. The GOP is not my "teammates".

I will follow George Washington whereas “interest and duty of wise people to discourage and restrain the spirit of the party”

There will be a massive difference between the parties in both the House and the Senate when it comes to this impeachment vote. During last year's impeachment, not a single Democrat voted to acquit on either count. In contrast, every single Republican voted to acquit, except for Romney who voted to convict one one count.

The contrast between the two parties is immense, even if the squishy ones on the margine sometimes abandon us.

I changed mine online last week, but need to call the GOP office, per your suggestion. Thank you.

Not really.

The biggest problem Republicans have is that there are always democrats who pretend to be Republicans while they are campaigning - because they could not be elected otherwise.

We will see who those fakers are today.

It depends on if you are in a closed or an open primary state. FL is a CLOSED primary state.

I understand.

In my state (alas, MA, where my vote is counted but doesn't count), it's more of a hybrid. If you are enrolled for a party, you can only vote in that party's primary. If you are unenrolled (i.e., independent), you can choose which primary ballot you want at the polls on primary day.

I lean more Libertarian than Republican, the old Libertarian that was less government. All the parties have gone more and more leftist.

A friend told me in the 1990s that
Both parties are marching us toward Socialism
The Democrats will just get us there faster.

But now USA is becoming more communist, too. NAZI stood for National Socialist Party. I have been telling my 37 year old son, our youngest, that my generation is leaving a mess behind for his gen.to clean up... along with our grandkids gen. What a mess!

This is not the America I grew up in 1951-2021.

“Gonna need to primary these traitors out”

Why bother ? Do you count the votes personally ? Your vote means nothing in 2021 and forever.

True! With FL being a CLOSED PRIMARY STATE, I noted that party affiliation can be changed back in same way. Needs to be done BEFORE last allowed registration date, in FL is 29-30 days. I’ll be staying on top of it.
