I can’t help but to think that in about 6 months, the opportunities for people wanting to open restaurants will be huge. There will be huge pent up demand and way fewer players in the market.
Likewise, I imagine a lot of entrepreneurial types will be reluctant to try opening a new business (especially one as low-margin as the restaurant world), since they have seen that they can be closed down and economically bled to death, without recourse, under the guise of “an emergency”.
And at the same time, as happened long after the Depression, how many former customers will now regard eating out an extravagance they can’t afford?
