“Turn out the lights The party’s over...”

Before I got to the Seattle area there was a bill board that said “Last one to leave Seattle, turn off the lights.”

Mainly due to Boeing getting slow I think (80’s???)

With Covid - all of the office parks are desolate. I’m guessing Boeing, along with their software problems, is also doing poorly. Amazon is leaving Seattle (if most aren’t already working from home).

We are in the middle of another light-rail expansion. I’m not sure how that will work with everyone working from home now. And once companies and people realize that they can work from home, have zoom meetings, etc. and everyone saves money.... I’m guessing the light-rail will be used mostly by gangs to get from the city to the suburbs. (Like in Portland).

In Seattle, the busses no longer charge people to ride them. Consequently, they have turned into traveling homeless shelters. I wouldn't ride one of them if they were free (which they are....well, maybe if my life depended on it.)
