The most vocal are the long time, older cruisers, who are demanding 100% assurances of safe cruising.

If anyone cares to look at bookings for 2022 - most of the high-end lines are selling out their posted cruises.

It seems the higher IQ travelers have never demanded "100% assurance" of safe cruising and are not falling for the hysteria of the silly wagging tongue crowd.

Visited Miami/South Beach just before Christmas. One Carnival lines ship was docked at the terminal, and two additional ships were anchored off shore. These ships are not going anywhere. The cruise/travel industry is barely on life support.

Welcome to West China, aka AmeriKa.

Prepare yourselves.

May I suggest that you do as my better half and I have done. Hold on to all of your property if you can. Buy an RV. Travel to Red states. Cheap, fun, unrestricted travel....at this time.

Did you examine the protocols these cruise lines have enacted? Have you gone to Cruise Critic to see what those booking these cruises have to say?

That would work but the wife is adamantly opposed. We had a 38 foot yacht and it was too much work. BTW, she’s beginning to think cruising might be fun again.

Did you see my comment about silly wagging tongues?

Yes, I saw that comment. And, yes, I agree about the ‘silly wagging tongues’. However, I’ve also seen the typical comments on Cruise Critic. The comments don’t change between luxury and mainstream cruise lines. The typical cruiser making comments is over 70, has multiple comorbidities and is scared to death by the virus. If they have to wear masks, etc., then that’s what they will do.
