In the first mad max movie gas wasnt overly expensive yet, and could still be bought at stations. Max and his wife and kid went on a flipping vacation and drove quite a bit.
The second movie was where it got really scarce and society had really fallen apart quite severely.
True, they did drive to the coast. I thought there was the standard late 70’s/early 80’s fuel shortage setup. Crap, now I have to watch it again ... just to make sure!
Mad Max 2 is an epic film.
The stunts are the best ever filmed when it comes to grit and realism.

We’ve had zombies for 100 years. They used to be called “Democrats”. Now they are called “Progressives”.
I’ll take a “Walking Dead” zombie over a Democrat any day or night. It least we know that the WD zombies will bite you head-on. Democrat zombies will stab you in the back.
