WASHINGTON — Impeachment pressure mounting, the House worked swiftly Monday to try to oust President Donald Trump from office, pushing the vice president and Cabinet to act first in an extraordinary effort to remove Trump in the final days of his presidency.
Trump faces a single charge -- “incitement of insurrection” - in an impeachment resolution that could go to a vote by mid-week. First, Democrats called on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke constitutional authority under the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office before Jan. 20, when Democrat Joe Biden is to be inaugurated.
It all adds up to stunning final moments for Trump’s presidency as Democrats and a growing number of Republicans declare that he is unfit for office and could do more damage after inciting a mob that ransacked the U.S. Capitol in a deadly siege last Wednesday.
“President Trump gravely endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of Government,” reads the four-page impeachment bill.
“He will remain a threat to national security, democracy, and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office,” it reads.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is recalling lawmakers to Washington for votes as more Republicans say it’s time for Trump to resign. Republican Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, joined GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska over the weekend in calling for Trump to “go away as soon as possible.”
As security tightened, Biden said Monday he was “not afraid” of taking the oath of office outside — as is traditionally done at the Capitol’s west steps, one of the areas where rioters stormed the building.
Biden said, “It is critically important that there’ll be a real serious focus on holding those folks who engaged in sedition and threatening the lives, defacing public property, caused great damage..."

So she skipped work today and is doing this from home. He did no such thing. They will not pass that but will make sure he is under impeachment when he leaves office. All to make him look bad. By 2024 the democrats will be begging him back. Once they start pushing the socialist agenda the dems will be miserable. I hope Trump opens the flood gates of declassifying everything. And am hoping for some major evidence to come out. And Fulton county has the ballots audited the 15th.
The Democrats are teetering on the edge of pretty much losing all of the US except the “hopelessly crazy” wing of the party.

Imagine I say, “I could care less”, and they say, “See, he cares as little as possible!” Except I didn’t say “I couldn’t care less”. That is their incorrect inference.
Truth be told. Their going to DC to show a strong presence was a good thing. And Trump wanted that. Their criminal trespass was a bad thing, for all concerned. And nowhere does Trump ask them to do that.

Nah, Pence won’t do it. The same weakness that prevented him from supporting Trump will prevent him from doing this. Pence is weak and will do nothing he thinks takes him out on a limb. He always reacts and never anticipates.

I do too and not just the 2020 election stuff - all the evidence of governmental wrongdoing that is conveniently hidden. Let the chips fall where they may. If someone I like is taken down by real, truthful evidence of wrongdoing, then so be it. The nation is better off for it.
My mom has always said that we should throw them all out because there's not enough good ones to take the time to pick them out. That is probably more true now than it's ever been.

The timing was off due to Trump being 45 minutes late arrival to give the speech in Washington, and invaders were already at the Capital getting ready for entry.
Of course, all the hundreds of thousand friendly demonstrators came with children, explosives, firearms, shields, bricks, wood planks, etc.

China Mitch said that he won’t reconvene the Senate until 19 Jan - not enough time for impeachment trial. Of course these people will stop at nothing to save their demented crooked way of life so We’ll see...
The Republicans who are saying that Trump should resign are the ones who have been Never Trumpers all along. So the media always goes to them for quotes.
