In one of my senior year classes the instructor invited us over to his house one evening for a cook-out. It was obvious his wife had put in a lot of time for the occasion, and we all enjoyed it.
The last question on our final exam was "Please explain why none of you had the courtesy to write my wife a thank-you note."
Ouch.
My college roommate wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. She was beyond ditzy, just careless with life and barely got through anything as she always did the barest minimums, half assed and mostly just sorry and always content with barely scraping by in the dirtiest and least way possible. (she came from a good family so not sure why.)
Before she dropped out of college (with a 1.8 GPA) she had a final exam where the professor told everyone to read the entire exam from start to finish before they started it. Time began and my roommate read the entire exam, taking the time to go all the way through to the end where instead of there being a last question, there was a statement: Thank you for following directions and reading this exam from beginning to end. If you have written nothing other than your Name at the top of the first page, please stop reading and turn the exam in for a grade of 100%. If you have not followed my instructions and have answered any of the questions, you must complete the entire exam for your grade.
So, she got up, picked up her purse and handed the exam to the professor who gave her a huge smile while everyone else looked shocked at her immediate exit from the room. No one else had followed directions and had to complete the entire exam. She was the only one who got 100%.
