Yeah, Lennon would have retracted his words on Imagine... as if all religion were crap and they don’t show the dignity in human beings. Religion provides eternal standards of good and bad, and it points to something higher than our petty selves, than our ego, will and desires. If religion was gone there would be a world of war, of all against all as in nature — we would be no different than tribes of clever monkeys. And the left wants to reduce us down to that. They can’t see anything above their hatred and class conflict.
