Yeah, he’s got a melancholy nature and then can also write some touching or beautiful songs. There are people that are just one way, like Kurt Cobain — I don’t think he ever wrote an upbeat, happy or positive song. But Neil could straddle those two worlds, though not all the time.

LOL! Yeah, I’ve been attempting to play since 1961. I’ve played with and opened for some talented folks over the years. Still play at some local jams in Reno and Virginia City (when they start back up). I too have played certain tunes I would have preferred to not play but it kinda goes with the territory. And, it does and doesn’t baffle me that so many artists are so liberal.

Hear, hear! The only worse vocals are Willy (Stoner) Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen.

Heroin addicts tend not to write upbeat, happy, and positive songs. :-)

Kurt Cobain grew up in Aberdeen, WA. Nuff said.

“And, it does and doesn’t baffle me that so many artists are so liberal.” — that is pure wisdom.

Thanks. Happy pickin’ despite the current state of affairs. Thinkin’ we may get some relaxation of our restrictions by the 15th of January if enough folks “behave”. Then it’ll be back to Virginia City for some open jams. Itching!

Bernie Leadon— nothing like that, nor is Don Henley, and definitely not Vince Gill. Personal knowledge.

Not reported enough- but in later life, Lennon was a huge supporter of Ronald Reagan as a candidate against Jimmah Cahtah. So a looney religious nut, schizophrenic Todd Rundgren fan, who had many other targets for his crazed thinking— reading Catcher in the Rye, killed Lennon because he preached love and yet had millions. Righteous religiosity in the era of the useless self righteous world corrector- Jimmah Cahtah, Mr. Peanut.

So who does that leave out? Joe Walsh? I don’t know if he’s drunk/stoned or has some speech impediment but he is always slurring his words. That is the vibe I get — and I think he has had his battles with the alcohol demons. But the Eagle give that image, if they aren’t like that in real life. Or maybe they were like that in the 70s and now have come to their senses.

Each of them contributed to clean up Joe Walsh who was all of what you describe... a real whacked druggie. Cleaned him up well, and kicked everything. Cost a bunch. To the point where he is on record with extremely cogent comment on the sad state of artist rights and the music biz, think it’s on U tub— isn’t everything.... his point exactly. Think he is a conservative republican in fact.

I know that Lennon eventually became more right thinking by talking the Reagan at football games. But many people don’t want to believe it and he is still one of the patron saints of the Left. Jimmy Carter was terrible and deserved his one term time in office. On the other hand, Trump’s one term was for the exact opposite reason of Carter: he was so good that he shamed the Democrats and they had to cheat because they couldn’t win legitimately. One get booted for incompetency and the other gets booted for being too good. Life is weird.

Ever wonder why Yoko wasn't shot even though she was right next to him?

His song “Imagine” is like a Communist manifesto or Soros “open society”.... Imagine there’s no country, no religion,=== only the STATE. The almighty Orwellian State. Silly crap song— childishness, which is also a goal keep people permanently needful children... not self sufficient.

Yeah, it remarkable that any of these guys can make a living these day with Youtube and COVID. I guess ZOOM lessons and chats with the Eagles is what is left. I hope they didn’t squander everything when they were young. Speaking of Todd Rundgren, he produced the Beatle backed band Badfinger and that band went to crap with two guys hanging themselves because their manager ripped them off. The only remaining guy lives in Minneapolis and he was telling his hard luck tale of having to get furniture from the Goodwill... so unless these guys are smart early, God knows how they are going to survive, especially now days with Youtube and COVID.
