It wouldn’t fly since so many consider themselves “disabled” and have gamed the system. You’d have to have a major purge of the disability machine. Just as unlikely as “child” support reform.

Why? Social Security is a trillion dollar redistribution of wealth from the labor force to an unproductive segment of society, or as Marx put it, "according to his [their] needs". Indeed, the disproportionate political power wielded by Social Security and Medicare recipients as a voting bloc ensures that these two socialist programs will never be meaningfully reformed or reduced.
In fact, to the original poster's point, you would most definitely want to take the franchise away from people who depend on Social Security and Medicare. They have quite literally discovered that they can vote themselves more money, just as Benjamin Franklin predicted. 37% of the entire federal budget is spent on socialism as a result of this!
