So, if she’s so adamant about her oath to defend the Constitution (and I laud her sentiment), then she has no choice but to reject any electoral votes that were determined in contradiction to the Constitution.
I know there are a number of these snakes who actually know this, and simply don’t care, but I have to believe this lady appears to simply be ignorant on the issue. The worst of the worst was Pence claiming that Congress’s role in this is merely “ceremonial”, and that they have no authority to correct or at least send back non-compliant slates of electors.
Ceremonial!? Does Pence actually believe that the Founders just threw some things into the Constitution for fun, without intending that those clauses actually mean anything or grant Congress any actual authority? He’s either a supreme fool, or is as corrupt as the dems. I have no idea which.
There are no “ceremonial” clauses in the Constitution. Why does he think it carves out the unique role for Congress of receiving and counting the electoral votes?

Sorry Nancy, but the text of the US Constitution says this:
“Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors..”
The states in question did not LEGALLY “appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct” their electors.
It’s that simple.
How can Congress legally accept electors from States who deliberately violated the Constitution, by ignoring the election laws that State Legislatures instituted as part of their Constitutional duty to do so? The only ones who can write election law are State Legislatures. Anyone else who does, and implements them is breaking the law. All four States in question did that.
