how does going independent work for primaries?....
It depends on what the laws of your State are. In New York State, an independent can't vote in primaries of either party, but that's okay with me. Screw 'em.
This will come up in the spring of 2022, as the primaries start up, and the Republicans in all 50 states find the voting pattern to be 30-percent of a normal pattern. Various governors, mayors, Representatives and Senators will start to chat about this ‘false’ reaction by former Republican voters.
One by one, they will all be voted down. The news media will gaze over this....3rd party candidates in most cases did better than Republican candidates, and in some state races (in the south), they will win.
The remaining fake Republicans will be pushed out in 2024’s election.
I’ll go ahead and predict that between 2024 and 2028...the Republican apparatus is completely finished off. Same path may occur with the Democrats....wouldn’t surprise me if one-third of the Democratic Party exits by 2024 as well, and forms a 4th party.
It lets those that stay in the party choose the candidates, in states with closed primaries. In states with open primaries, nothing changes because people of one party can potentially organize and try to vote for a candidate for the other party in the primary who is too weak to win in the general election.
Nothing good would come of it.
Nothing at all.
Here in Texas, we dont have to register as anything. Open primaries.
This fight is in the primaries. If we do not beat the rinos in the primaries the general is lost.
