@RandPaul
This is the speech I'll be giving today from an undisclosed location.
I wrote a speech today.
I was planning to say I fear the chaos of establishing a precedent that Congress can overturn elections.
Boy, was I right.
Chaos. Anarchy. It’s wrong and un-American.
The vote we are about to cast is important.
Now more than ever.
The question is: Should Congress override the certified results from the states and nullify the states’ right to conduct elections?
The vote today is not a protest; the vote today is literally to overturn the election!
Voting to overturn state-certified elections would be the opposite of what states’ rights Republicans have always advocated for.
This would doom the electoral college forever.
It was never intended by our founders that Congress have the power to overturn state-certified elections.
My oath to the Constitution doesn’t allow me to disobey the law. I cannot vote to overturn the verdict of the states.
Such a vote would be to overturn everything held dear by those of us who support the rights of states in this great system of federalism bequeathed to us by our founders.
The electoral college was created to devolve the power of selecting presidential electors to the states.
The electoral college is, without question, an inseparable friend to those who believe that every American across our vast country deserves to be heard.
If Congress were given the power to overturn the states’ elections . . . what terrible chaos would ensue.
Imagine the furor against the electoral college if Congress becomes a forum to overturn states’ electoral college slates.
It is one thing to be angry. It is another to focus one’s anger in a constructive way. That hasn’t happened today, to say the least. We simply cannot destroy the Constitution, our laws, and the electoral college in the process.
I hope as the nation’s anger cools, we can channel that energy into essential electoral reforms in every state.
America is admired around the world for our free elections. We must, we absolutely must, fix this mess and restore confidence and integrity to our elections.
I call it the bayonet method.
I estimate that small government conservatives are 25% of the consistent voting public [19% voted Perot in 1992, DESPITE all the Media-Uniparty-Deep State dirty tricks, which President Trump has shown us to be real things].
Wait'll the Repukes get a load of the Woke Twenty Five Percent.
I would guess that even a RepubliGimp who got 60% might not be safe if the Woke 25%ers coordinated the bayonetting really well.
The Bayonet Party can easily get him out of office in the general, if they vote for the Democrat.
See my post #121.
His problem will be the primary if people are annoyed at him, not the general
No, he’s not saying that at all. Think about it... it’s all about States’ rights, which we should want. The RINOs in the states should be the one clamoring for fair elections.

Rand Paul has to be over at least 60% historically to be moderately safe from that 25% in the general.
He's not.
agreed
Senator Rand,
Fraud vitiates everything, including this election. You talk about fixing the election process, moving forward.
The people demand you fix this election, now.
You all broke it. Now you fix it.
He is more likely to be voted out in the primary because of this!! than against an unknown Dem. They won’t elect a Dem in KY
On Monday Rand is brilliant.
On Tuesday Rand is prophetic.
On Wednesday Rand is confusing.
On Thursday Rand is kissing Mitch’s butt.
On Friday Rand is laying low.
On Saturday Rand is no longer mowing his lawn.
On Sunday Rand is preparing for a brilliant Monday.
So states have the right to flagrantly defy the US Constition? That's EXACTLY what they did by breaking the established election laws of their own legislatures. Whether or not the legislatures were able to DO anything does not change the fact that those slates of electors were illegally certified. And this is without even getting into the underlying voter and ballot fraud.
The election is illegitimate and there is simply no changing that fact. Anyone who supports the inauguration of Joeng Xiden under this election is a traitor and enemy of the republic.
Congress is not meant to overtime the states in this process IMHBDAO.
Just totally ignore us conservatives who have been voting "lesser of two evils" since 1992, and watching the "Free Beer Tomorrow" Repukes lie to us for lo those 30 years.
"We'll stand up to the Democrats TOMORROW if you vote us in today! We PROMISE!!"
I'm done. If President Trump doesn't pull these chestnuts out of the fire before January 20th, I'll be working hard to sabotage any Repuke I can in 2022.
Be sure to work hard at getting your Kentucky RepubliChump pals out to the general in 2022 so's they can get their "Free Beer Tomorrow!" from Rand once he's safely elected...
Rand is the only senator who has - for ten years- voted against every spending bill/resolution.
He is the closest thing to a proper, authentic conservative that you could meet.
Lets not throw the baby out of with the bathwater here.
At least I hope freepers won’t ...
Oh Rand get a grip. Sending 6 state certs back to the state legislatures for final remediation isn’t that momentous.
They are all at an undisclosed location plotting against the President of the United States. Now that’s really scary and probably truer than we know.
‘
Yes!
Absolutely!!

I think he’s right on a basic level. We would seriously endanger the electoral college, set a precedent for future congresses & add further problems on top of all the fraud. We have to remember to think beyond the moment & our emotions. Cooler heads must prevail. We’ve got to stop attacking good, solid people raising good points. I trust Rand. He’s a good man! 😃
What I’ve came to believe about the elections....
After years of watching Presidential elections, I have come to the conclusion that there is an under the table handshake between the two parties to share the Office of the President.
When one party has a strong candidate the other party then runs a weak candidate. Think of McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis, Kerry and Gore as the weak ones against strong Republican candidates.
Then think of Dole, McCain and Romney as weak candidates against strong Democrat candidates. When Sarah Palin became too popular at campaigning the Republicans held her back.
As for the 2016 election, Hillary was the chosen strong candidate against a man who was not a politician. She was already deemed the President, polls and interviews showed she was going to be the winner no matter what. No need to “cheat”.
The Election was just a formality, the magazines declaring her the winner had already been printed.
One problem. TRUMP overwhelmingly won, throwing everything into a cocked hat. Since that time the elites that secretly decide elections have worked overtime to remove Trump.
In the last election Trump drew thousands to his rallies but Biden drew maybe a bus load and flies. The election showed Trump ahead till thousands of suddenly, under mysterious circumstances, “found” votes gave it to Biden. The “Fix” was in. They could not afford to let Trump win.
Now think back to 1980. The Dems screamed that Ronald Reagan was too old to be President as he was 70 years of age when he took office. There were bets he would not last his first term, and one magazine had an illustration of Reagan laying on an autopsy table.
Yet now the Dems are pushing a 78 year old near senile old man claiming he is the best for the job. I bet Kamalla Harris is chomping at the bit to take over. Probably the only way a woman will get the Presidency. Jill better watch Biden’s back close.
‘
He’s loves the minority, he can run his mouth and let others worry about real life.
Pompous ass.
