Option for who?
The only thing that will lead to is the liberal states betraying the conservative ones by turning themselves into client states for our enemies. And giving up strategic locations to the liberals will mean what for conservative state security?
A red state alliance RSA would have a 5 million man army ( guess, maybe bigger) and a huge air force and navy. Without all the needless social spending the RSA would be free to actually defend itself.
