Feral dogs should be open season and shot on sight!

I don’t think you can shoot any dog unless it’s threatening or damaging property. They’re considered property not wildlife thus not regulated by the DNR. Of course if they’re truly feral, there’s no one to complain. But like feral pigs which are wildlife and can be hunted all year, if you shoot a domestic pig running loose, you’re responsible. Coyotes/Wolves/Coywolves are similar in a way. You can’t really tell them apart. I’m aware of one instance where a trapper was cited for killing a wolf. Penalties being harsh, loss of hunting and trapping privilege’s for a period of years, hired a lawyer. Lawyer had a DNA test done, turned out to have some coyote genes, thus not a wolf and not endangered. Coyotes can be hunted all year, so no harm, no foul. Amazing you need a lawyer for outdoor activities like this.
